Isitifiketi

My debut EP is now available on all digital platforms.

  • The Zulu word isitifiketi translates to “certificate” – something witnessed and recognised. For Jabulile, this project is exactly that: an archival record of where he’s been, who he’s become, and the stories that have shaped him. “This project is about identity,” he says. “It’s rooted in time, movement, and the places and experiences that shape who we are. Growing up at a Children’s Home in the Midlands of KwaZulu-Natal, storytelling was everything – from folk tales to stories about the world beyond. Life in the countryside was slow, and our imaginations made distant places feel close. Isitifiketi is a window into that world – a reflection on my faith, my memory, and my journey of becoming.”

UNYAZI

My collaborative album with Yoav

  • Yoav and Jabulile Majola's Unyazi, is a musical project that bridges their worlds through discovery, vulnerability, and healing.

Their paths crossed through a mutual friend, leading them to sit together to write. Within a day, the duo had recorded the initial idea for “Stranger” and after the positive responses they received from friends, they agreed to keep collaborating until eventually the album UNYAZI emerged.

"Unyazi," named after the fleeting light that ignites the sky after a lightning strike considers the fragility and temporary nature of life. Both artists suffered the loss of loved ones during the recording process. As a result, the album became a conduit through which they processed their grief. The project offers listeners a glimpse into their journey of healing and resilience.

"Throughout the process of writing this record, it felt like we were going through a collective grief. Our intention was to create something healing and nourishing, and in the process, we experienced healing ourselves.” - Yoav
